We held Chapter elections for 2017/2018 Officers.  Sarah Fay was re-elected as President and Elizabeth Peterson is our new Chapter Vice President.  Continuing for an additional two years are Mary Howarth Secretary and Loretta Pearce as Treasurer.  Veronica Hennessey is now our 2nd Board Representative.

June 5th we held our Spring Fundraiser.  It was a Root-beer Float stand at the Function 4 Junction car cruise.  Thank you to The Filling Station for donating the Root-beer and to Lochmead for donating the Ice Cream & Location.  A big thank you to all the volunteers.  It was a small profit but still successful.  We look forward to participating again next year.

One of the things our Chapter has been passionate about is donating our time to the Agriculture in the Class Room Literacy Project.  This year we more than doubled the class rooms reached to 34 with ‘Allison Investigates does Chocolate mike come from Brown Cows.’  We were able to provide Chocolate milk to most of the class rooms both donated by Lochmead and purchased by our chapter; our local Junction City third graders followed up with a field trip to Lochmead Farm’s the following week to see the Dairy cows!

Next year our goal is increase our volunteer numbers so we can reach more classrooms.  Thank you to Angie Gibson for taking on the huge task of coordinating and scheduling and to all our Volunteers for their time.

We are off for the Summer.  Our next meeting will be held October 6th 8:15 am at Citizens Bank in Junction City.

Mary Howarth, Secretary
