The Eastern Chapter of Oregon Women for Agriculture has awarded its 2022 scholarships to three outstanding students who are each pursuing a degree in Agriculture. Each scholarship applicant wrote a 500-1000 word essay about what is one of the biggest challenges facing agriculture today and how they plan to be a part of the solution. Reading through the essays gives hope to the future of Agriculture. It is good to know these young ladies will be tackling the challenges! The EOWA is proud to support this next generation of Women in Agriculture through these scholarships.

Elizabeth “Ellie” Hanson from La Grande won the first place scholarship of $1000. Ellie plans to major in Business Administration and Agricultural Sciences at Eastern Oregon University/Oregon State University.

Alyson Yates from La Grande was the second place winner and awarded a scholarship of $750. Alyson plans to major in Agricultural Science at Oregon State University Partnership Program through Eastern Oregon University.

Madison Morgan from Halfway was the third place winner and awarded a scholarship of $500. Madison has plans to study Molecular Biology at Eastern Oregon University.
