This fall our chapter participated as one of the non-profit organizations in the Festival of Trees event sponsored by the Dallas Chamber, Visitor Center, and the Dallas Arts Association. The chamber helped pair each non-profit with a local business to assist with decorating a tree and to provide an auction item that the community can bid on and win, just in time for Christmas and 100% of the proceeds will go back to the non-profit
associated with it. We also provided a QR code that folks can scan to learn more about OWA to make a direct donation.
We partnered with Cascade Home Center in Dallas. They provided a tree and for auction items, a 60v DeWalt Brushless Chainsaw, 20v Black & Decker Drill and a Cow Rug. Polk OWA members decorated the tree with farm animal ornaments and a garland made with the 20 ag crops in Oregon. (Provided by the Oregon Department of Agriculture!) A great opportunity to bring attention to OWA and our mission.
Don’t miss the December issue of Ruralite. Polk OWA’s, Arlene Kovash made the cover and is highlighted for her many talents in the article, “Pedee Women’s Club Runs on Tradition and Heart”.
